35 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for business
My husband and I stayed at the Travelodge Chicago for a business trip. His company set it up, and, for a $130.00 a night, I thought it was going to be a really nice hotel. Well, I was wrong! I was very unhappy when after checking in, I saw how dingy and smelly the halls were. We were woken up several times throughout the night from other guests slamming doors and running down the hall. I called the help desk each time, and the man was nice, but said that security could not find the person who was making all the noise. When checking out the next day, I complained to the manager, who offered to give us 10% off the bill. The room was already on my husband's company credit card, that was the only reason I agreed to this low offer. Also, they did not have a parking lot so we had to pay an extra $16.00 to have someone valet our car. It took us 40 minutes to get our car, and we could not wait to get out of there!

At the Travelodge Chicago, the check in clerk was ill-informed and rude.

22 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
My guests and I were cold in the room. We tried to work the heat. It never came on so we changed rooms. But the heat did not work in the new room either. We called someone and they never came. So we froze all 3 nights. We complained when we were leaving.

The last time we stayed at this hotel, we had a kitchenette. When we made this reservation, I asked about the set up of the room and was told that all rooms are similarly equipped. That was not true.
