Great

A 1960s motor lodge in the city. It even has an outdoor pool! It's the only hotel within two blocks of the Jacobs Convention center and suited my needs just fine. Diner on one side, wine store on the other, police precinct across the street. Room was fine with Wi-Fi. Price was very reasonable for the city.

I am very likely to return to the Travel Inn Hotel New York.
I might recommend it to friends.

It does not have a coffee shop on site it is a diner 5-10 mins walk away and you would not walk in this area alone!! no room service on site you have to ring the desk and they order from the diner up the road but there is a minimum order it is 18 dollars and a 10% delivery charge on top and can only order by credit card only, can not charge to room. so no coffee order allowed and no coffee making equipment in rooms not even a water jug, you would have to order at minimum a meal and even ordering breakfast it would still be under 18dollars so no way can you use this Diner. We were never checked in at all in the Travel Inn hotel on arrivial(passports) anyone can just stroll in, rooms disgusting, this Travel Inn is just a few doors from a Doss House and thats the people you have to walk past everyday, there is a cafe near but nothing to do with the Travel Inn and in fact we were told not to use this cafe as the food was bad!!!

actually we did use it as we needed a coffee and went in and found despite the travel company and the Travel Inn this cafe was Ok but nothing to do with Traval Inns. We asked to move rooms the first day as we overlooked the main NY train tracks and very large chemical skips full and the noise was constant, and was refused but eventually tried again and argued to move rooms, there was no check that we were acutally staying there the day and although we were then given new room keys there again was no check we actually were staying in the hotel no names were asked for or given again, and we were told to move our selves heaving heavy cases down 1 floor, had to use the staircase which was like an outside fire escape with concrete floors and iron railing with large metal rubbish bins full and spilling over with rubbish ( fire hazzard) and as the lift did not always work and was so tiny we did move ourselves down these stairs, the new room was no better it was open on to balconies overlooking the swimming pool, but at least we did not overlook the main NY train tracks and chemical skips overflowing, the swimming pool was not in use as it was being repaired and cleaned. our new room was never cleaned or towels changed as on the day we were leaving the maids had just found out we were there, we could have been housing all the dossers from up the road and in fact I think they did in other parts of the Inn. We complained constantly to our Travel company Travelscope but they refused to move anyone and we found out they believed this advert above which is wrongful advertising as they have no room service or coffee/meal service next door, and in fact the diner up the road that the Travel Inn uses advertises on the diner door as free deliver when the Travel Inn acutally charge 10% delivery, this needs closing down for total refurbisment and totally unsafe security wise, anyone could have got into our rooms and in fact there is notices in the rooms saying beware don't open the door to anyone before ringing down to the desk first !!!

even the taxi drivers have not heard that there is a Hotel in this area and were not happy to pick up or deliver down in this area, our so called Travel Manager/Guide in New York said this Travel Inn is very bad and don't know why the travel company use this Travel Inn at 515 West 42Street, New York

because everyone she meets to bring here complains why does no one do anything some of the staff are so rude (customer service is non existant here), apart from the state of it, it is puting peoples lives at risk because of the lack of security.

We have been previously to New York and loved the people and the place but this time it has totally been spoilt. Is anyone out there listening ????

because this is going to run and run we are taking action and someone will listen eventually.

Hotel Review by a traveler from Accord, NY - Posted Jun 9, 06
60 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The front desk staff was extremely unfriendly upon check in. The hotel is a good value and it is in a good location. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

This hotel made me feel content: The room was well maintained and it was larger than I expected.

I am very likely to return to the Travel Inn Hotel New York.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
