This is a beautiful place. Accommodations are very nice, clean and right on the water (if you request that). The grounds are very pretty, with a grassy area, sandy beach area on the lagoon, and an area for volleyball. The white beach villas are right out of a southern plantation. Very pretty. Water sports for the kids are also right on site which is nice (but pricey).
The major negative that we found is CONSTRUCTION!!! We were not told about this. We awoke to sledge hammers, bulldozers and voices that started at 645am. This was supposed to be our relaxing Thanksgiving vacation, only to be constantly bothered by the noise. Our beautiful view outside our French doors was looking out to a construction site. The construction is only going on the lagoon side, so I would highly recommend staying either directly on the beach or on the pool side. We tried our best to get our room changed, but to no avail. Our biggest disappointment was that management never told us about this prior to our coming, nor did they do much to help once we got there. Finally, on Friday, construction stopped for the weekend and we could enjoy our stay. Although, the view stayed the same. The staff is somewhat helpful but a little bit snobby and not very nice. I would not come back here again unless the construction has stopped. Apparently, they said it was "spur of the moment" and they are adding a pool and putt putt course. Good place for families . The only thing they did was give us a $40 dollar total discount (20 per night for the 2 nights of construction)--which seemed ridiculous for what we went through. Good luck.
