The Hotel itself was not bad at all. We stayed at the Breckenridge Bldg. for 2 weeks of our St. Pete vacation, May 21-June04. The room we had was always clean except the bathroom, sometimes was not really properly clean but the housekeeping staff/ladies were really nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately some staff were really rude. One incident was when I was struggling with my baby in my arms and some packages the door man/person was just standing there on the side of the concierge desk chatting and not one of the 4 man tried to open the door!! Geezz!! and another incident, when asking for car service this man on the desk was not the slightest interested on us or our business, it looks like were even interrupting on something!! AND the biggest dissappoint we had when we learned that the money we left as a tip for the housekeeper (in the room), housekeeper did not even received !! I advice that when doing this make sure to hand it to the housekeeper itself. Besides all that, it also has a washer & dryer for clothes, fireworks on weekends and the beach is really nice & clean. Aside all that we might go back.

In our opinion do not be fooled by the AAA four diamond rating. This property is poor at best and there are much nicer better places to stay in the area. Service poor, food terrible not at all worth the money. It is almost a self service hotel.

We were very disappointed and we left early.

We had a wonderful 5 days at this resort... the only complaint we had was that food prices were a bit high... but there was always the poolside restaurant or the Deli.... the rooms were fine...always cleaned and the staff (except for one person on the front desk) were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back, sooner rather than later. Awesome sunsets!!!!! The beach was clean, amazingly so considering it was Spring Break. Wish the balconies were wider!!!!! Could sit on the balcony with the chair sidewise but no way could you turn the chair to face the beach, but the resort being on the beach made up for that. It would have been nice in the evening to sit outside to watch the sunsets.

I am very likely to return to the TradeWinds Island Grand Beach Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
