Conceived as a cool-cheap chillout pad in South Beach, Townhouse opened its doors in Summer 2000 with a playful combination of modern design and homey comfort. Located on the beach at 20th Street and Collins Avenue, the hotel is conveniently located next to many of the Art Deco district's hotspots, including the shops and cafes of Lincoln Road. The idea was to create a happy, unpretentious place for people who have style but don't need to spend a lot of money," "People who just want to hang around somewhere that's both edgy and fun."

Location. Located at the north end of the Art Deco District in Miami Beach, Fla. the Townhouse Hotel Miami sits adjacent to South Beach and the Bass Museum of Art. The beach is one-half block from the hotel. Hotel Features. The hotel's all-white lobby contains a 1939 edifice and the original terrazzo floors, while the rest of the hotel is very modern. Complimentary, Parisian-style breakfasts are served each morning. Bond St. Lounge, the hotel's basement restaurant serves sushi, sake and Japanese cuisine at communal tables in a minimalist setting. Red lounges, umbrellas and waterbeds grace the rooftop sundeck, where a bar opens on Wednesday through Saturday nights. A glass-cubed water tower lit from within sits in the center of the patio. Cardiovascular equipment is located at the end of each hallway. Guestrooms. Guestrooms lend a dorm room atmosphere. Amenities include wireless Internet access for a fee, minibars, cable television and designer toiletries. Bathrooms offer rainforest showerheads. Expert Tip. As the Florida sun beats down on sunbathers on the rooftop deck, guests sitting on the red cushioned benches are misted by a small waterfall.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Townhouse Hotel and overall we gave the hotel a 3, for one major reason: the ceilings and walls are paper thin so you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the upper floors and hallways. Sleeping through the night is nearly impossible. Other than that, the hotel was great. The rooms were super clean, we loved the crisp modern decor, staff was helpful and the free breakfast was also nice. So, if you don't plan to sleep at night, this is the hotel for you. If sleeping is a major part of your vacation plans, don't stay here.
