Definitely not the quality one would expect from the Marriott name. The lobby is nice enough and the staff is very friendly, but the hotel is run down overall- worn carpet, scuffed walls, etc. Room was mostly clean, except for the back of the bathroom door (it's a pocket door and I'm sure the maids usually leave it open while cleaning, so they've probably never noticed).
The continental breakfast was average- cereal, muffins, toast, yogurt, juice, coffee. There is also a kitchen in the room.
The "fitness center" was located between the elevator and my room, so I checked it when I first got there and found the door locked. I figured it was only open certain hours so I checked the info in my room, and it said it could be accessed anytime with my room key. Only, it didn't have a room-key type lock, but a brass-key type. So, I checked it again the next couple times I passed by, and finally found it unlocked- only to find NO exercise equipment at all, but a desk, filing cabinet, a couple chairs, and a vacuum cleaner? Apparently you can get passes to the local Y at the front desk, but I never asked- I like the convenience of an on-site exercise room, and I was only staying 2 nights anyway.

It's a typical Marriott. When you walk in there is a smaller lounge / breakfast area where you can get coffee and Breakfast in the morning. They have a small store where you can purchase pop, snacks and other food items. The hallways are clean...

Mediocre
We were assigned the wrong room type and 20 minutes later were able to get moved to the right room. Breakfast the first day was a disaster, the tables were dirty, no coffee ready, no rolls, no waffles and the attendant was loudly telling everyone...

I liked the room design and loved the price. The location was a little off the way for Interstate 35 travelers. My only complaint was that there were no king beds available.
It was a nice, useful room design. I did not have to walk far from parking to the room.
I am very likely
to return to the TownePlace Suites Wichita East.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The service was excellent. Our first night was paid for by my fiance's employer at a special group rate for the entire company. We were planning on staying a second night in order to have a bit of a vacation. The desk clerk arranged for us to have the same $30 rate the second night. I would have gladly paid the regular rate, but this was an unexpected and very nice surprise. The desk clerk that I spoke to later that evening was kind and helpful when I asked about local fast food places. Everyone there was just simply wonderful. It was a great experience!

The hotel is in a good location. It's a great value (we had a special rate for our business) and offers good comfort. I just wish that there was a restaurant. But the convenience store did have a pretty good selection and decent prices.
