I was somewhat worried when (before arrival) I called to make sure all arrangements were perfect for the Family Reunion. The clerk told me there was no confirmation in my name--so I forwarded the "email confirmation" sent by him to me , back to him. That should have given me a clue.

Our actual stay was full of problems: a reserved room on a ground floor (for senior couple) was given-away ; sound insulation between rooms was non-existent ; ants in a bathroom; unrequested wake-up calls; bedspread pulled-up over unmade bed ; towels not replenished; continental breakfast was the sparsest seen; staff was rude. Ridiculous rates for a very poorly managed place.

We rented 3 rooms for 3 days each (at an exorbitant price for the accomodations provided) One of the rooms reserved was "cancelled" (not true) and we had to take a 2nd floor instead of ground floor as reserved.

One of the occupants was handicapped and this made a real problem.

During our stay we experienced: the bed was not made - just the bedspread pulled up to look like it was made; sheets too small for the bed; towels not replaced after being used; incredible noise from adjoining units; ants in large numbers in the bath and lavatory areas; the cheapest 'continental breakfast 'I have ever seen; 6:30 AM wakeup call that was not ordered; staff consistently rude and refused to give name of owners.

This hotel is not for travelers who want a good night’s sleep! The NOISE LEVEL IS OUT OF CONTROL!!! i read the reviews that mentioned the noise level but thought it would be manageable... boy was i wrong. You can hear every noise from every room around you! You can hear people having conversations in other rooms, going up the stairs, walking around upstairs! Everything! I was woken up at least 6 times late at night and EARLY morning (2 am!) because of the noise! The noise was soooo bad we complained the next morning to the front desk. When we complained we were told "what do you expect, this is a motel!" We wanted to check out but were told that because we made reservations for 2 nights we would be charged for the second night even if we left!

P.S. there was urine drops on the toilet seat when we first checked in.

I always stay here when in Santa Cruz, the only place I will stay. The rooms are clean, the rates are reasonable and the service is excellent.

I like that the hotel was located next to the beach. There was nothing I disliked about the hotel.

This hotel made me feel practical: It felt like it was a sufficient hotel for my needs and in my price range.
