Thunderbird Resort Club Sparks

I stayed in the one bedroom unit way in the back of the resort. I do not think the unit had been occupied recently. There was only one television in the unit and it was located above the refrigerator in the dual function living/kitchen. The bedroom did not have a television.

The units do not include an ironing board and iron, so be sure to ask for one when you check in. The coffee maker did not work, so if you are like me and require the early morning cup of joe check before housekeeping leaves at 5pm.

The previous reviews indicate that the resort has been remodeled, but the exterior of the building I stayed in was in dire need of a couple coats of paint.

The unit was clean and the staff was friendly, but having stayed in timeshare units across the US and Carribean I was disappointed with the accomodations.

The pictures of the resort were deceiving. The resort is gated because the location calls for it.

We came here because my husband was working and we didn't want to stay in the hotel. I really like it. Not the most up to date but it's clean the staff is very nice. I feel very safe being alone most of the day. Love the pool and hot tub. Only bad thing no internet!!! Can't wait to come back!!!

So, I've been going here since I was 2 years old and now I'm 18 and all grown up, its a great spot for kids they can watch themselves in the gated community (I mean we did). The only thing I would add, since I'm going back this august, is wi-fi internet connection. There is now hotspots but on top of that there's a lot of food, spots, and target and the waterslides are right down the street, so hop in the car and drive 400 miles to the coolest resort in all of Nevada.

We swap a timeshare week to some location or other every year, so we've been to a lot of them. Here's the bottom line on Thunderbird in Reno-Sparks. It's not a great neighborhood, but maybe there aren't that many great areas in the Reno-Sparks area. The hardscrabble, rough around the edges character of Reno is one of the things we like about it. There are pockets of elegance in a cheaper, easier going, sometimes down-on-its-luck town. And if you want the very highest end, Tahoe is 30 minutes away. The resort has gates and security, so we felt completely safe. The two bedroom unit was older but reasonably well maintained, it was very spacious (it must have been a two bedroom, two story apartment at one time), was clean and comfortable. We'll come here again sometime.
