Orbitz
My son and I stayed here April, 2009 in order to tour The College of William and Mary. It was chosen because of the location and mostly good reviews. Though it was priced at $89 on Expedia and Orbitz, those rates were sold out and we paid $119, very expensive for the accommodations. Upon arrival the clerk at the front desk was unpleasant. We were not welcomed but were greeted with raised eyebrows rather than "Can I help you?" We should have left then. We were told to use the service elevator to be closer to our room so we shared it with the staff that could not muster a smile and a hello. The lobby (on our floor) was a mess from construction for the vending machine room. Yellow caution tape was wrapped around a space that was 15'X20" as well as the adjoining room (no door) that was dusty, had ripped up carpet, workmen on site early and with press-to-talk communication. Our room was quite small with 2 double beds, standard bath and European sink arrangement. Bathroom was standard; old curtain, old tub/floors, very slow drain, no vent. The television was tiny at about 20 inches (inadequate) and had poor picture quality. Wifi was $9.95 a day!! The window was painted shut. I asked to have it opened but the same front desk clerk refused due to quote - insurance and followed that all are painted shut. The room was clean, but stifling. There was no way to get fresh air with the heat/air system. Paint and wallpaper looked new, furnishings were pleasant as were the mattresses. Breakfast in the near empty hotel restaurant Papillon was friendly but the food was well below par. Two orders of pancakes, one of bacon, 2 OJ was $30 with 20% tip was pricey. I suggest going to one of the nearby pancake or waffle houses. With regard to the location, inexpensive lot parking is plentiful for both the college and Colonial Williamsburg. We spent $160, before tax, on a double room that would have been less than half the price 2 blocks away. It would have had free Wifi, complimentary continental breakfast, same free parking, and I wouldn’t have been so aghast if the staff were rude. Don’t stay at Williamsburg Hospitality House if you want some measure of value and civility. No Virginia hospitality here.

Okay
Stayed for 1 night. Room was O.K. A.C. and Heat cycled all night. Did not use any facilities, but the walk to historic area might be 2 blocks, but its the longest 2 blocks I've ever walked. Walk at least 1/2 mile, and that was just to market square....

It was a nice hotel but no more special than other hotels I have stayed in. The staff was courteous and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good but the breakfast buffet was very pricey.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the The Williamsburg Hospitality House.
I might recommend it to friends.

It was a great hotel. The staff was excellent. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable and right downtown. You can be at all the tourist spots in minutes.
The place was beautiful and old.
I am very likely
to return to the The Williamsburg Hospitality House.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Checking traveler comments you might some find some reviews offering glowing words and high marks for this establishment, they must be hotel shills and touts.
Other than the location, there is nothing good or dependable about The Williamsburg Hospitality House. Despite the websites and photos, you expect: dirt, mold, damp, dark, rude staff, smelly rooms equipped with few of the expected norms like coffee pot, dryer, iron, safe and wireless internet. If you find a problem, you own it.
Specialties of the house include bait and switch bookings, credit card overcharges and extraordinarily inconsiderate desk clerks. Basically, it's back in the USSR!
