It was a great hotel. The staff was excellent. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable and right downtown. You can be at all the tourist spots in minutes.
The place was beautiful and old.
I am very likely
to return to the The Williamsburg Hospitality House.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Checking traveler comments you might some find some reviews offering glowing words and high marks for this establishment, they must be hotel shills and touts.
Other than the location, there is nothing good or dependable about The Williamsburg Hospitality House. Despite the websites and photos, you expect: dirt, mold, damp, dark, rude staff, smelly rooms equipped with few of the expected norms like coffee pot, dryer, iron, safe and wireless internet. If you find a problem, you own it.
Specialties of the house include bait and switch bookings, credit card overcharges and extraordinarily inconsiderate desk clerks. Basically, it's back in the USSR!

To start off they kept us waiting for a room for two hours after we requested an early check in. The hotel was very tacky. Our room was ok but the TV was old. The breakfast buffet was too expensive and was a joke. The food was not good at all. They...

The place has a bit of a musty smell, so we knew there was dampness, but when the window treatment fell out of the wall and onto my son's bed, while he was in it, we knew the dampness was a huge problem.
But not to management, no monetary or any other conciliation was made to satisfy us from having to get out of bed at 11 pm for maintenance to fix the problem. They sent only one guy, meaning my husband had to help! Some vacation, and nobody will return my calls. Don't stay here. You'll pay a lot and get so little in return!

The service was good for the price - a doorman to take our luggage up to the room, a very friendly person in the neat shop. The only disappointment was the Sunday buffet - below average. The rooms were nice though the TV was old and the picture...
