55 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My daughter used this facility for her wedding and reception this May, and it cost over $7,000.00 U.S. for approximately 50 people.
She supplied her own decorations, and had to remove her decorations after each step of the wedding herself.
The "finger food buffet" cost $32.00 per plate and consisted of nachos, salsa, guacamole, perogies, and meat dumplings.
The champagne toast cost over $1000.00 extra for mediocre sparkling wine.
The wedding party had hair and make-up done at the spa which cost over $200.00 each. We had to re-curl everyone's hair after one hour. My mother had her hair done at a Fantastic Sams and her do was much better than any of ours and she paid $22.00.
I grew up with the Red Door mystique........this was the place to go. Unfortunately, I learned firsthand that it is a myth......no more special than having your makeup and hair done at the mall.
The service (except for the golf cart gentlemen) was lackluster at best. And downright rude when asked to take the luggage into the room.
The bartender assumed everyone was driving and cut many wedding guests off after two drinks. Designated drivers, cabs, and rooms at the Wigwam had been arranged. She even cut the bride off, and she was staying at the Wigwam.
There was a hole in the bathroom wall in our cottage........it had been plastered over and painted. But not sanded smooth before being painted.
And, to top it all off, the maid of honor walked into the cottage where the bridesmaids had left their clothing etc and found someone dressed like a maid going through the bags.
In all, really disappointing for the money paid. We will never go back.
