The Hotel Palomar Los Angeles - Westwood completed an extensive and complete remnovation and reopened as a brand new Kimpton hotel in May 2008. After officially closing the previous hotel in Summer 2006 for remodeling, the property underwent an extensive redevelopment including the remodeling of all guest rooms, an increase of suite count, and the launch of a Kimpton chef-driven restaurant. The location was convenient and it was quiet at night for a good night's sleep yet close to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Westwood.

The interior looked old and in need of a renovation.

This hotel is clearly doing major construction/renovation work while staying open. That would be ok if they had let us know and then we could decide if we still wanted to stay. The problem was they are doing this work in the middle of the night. Between 12am and 5am, they are jack hammering and making a lot of noise. This occured in the room directly above us. They told us they would be doing boiler work and there would be no water between 11pm and 5am. Obvously that is not all they were doing. When we left the next morning we noticed a temporary construction elevator attached to the outside of the building.

I loved it, the rooms were wonderful, clean and beautiful, the service was great, fast and efficient. It was a dream vacation.

This hotel made me feel pampered: They met me at the door. They had my refrigerator stocked with my favorite soda which is not easy to find, they removed all of the products that I was allergic to and treated me like an honored guest.
