The Westin Southfield Detroit Hotel

The service provided by the restaurant and bar staff was terrible. They acted like they were doing us a favor. The room was very nice. The staff needs to have a seminar about customer service.

It was located close to a freeway that went into downtown Detroit, that was the good part. Too many of the employees acted like it was a big bother having us there. The room was very nice but the bed was too soft to sleep in, way too soft. Some people might enjoy that but I didn't I was there for two nights perhaps I should have asked if anything could be done but again the people at the hotel were not real user friendly.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: The room was comfortable and had nice furnishings.

This Westin was extremely sub-par in comparison to other Westin's I've encountered. It was convenient based on the event I was attending in town but I would not recommend it to anyone that is looking for a really fantastic hotel. This is a place to lay your head. Having lived near this hotel for several years I know that it was previously another hotel. It seems the only thing that was done in the conversion to a Westin was a few decor changes but nothing compared to the high-level decor seen in most Westins.

It was beautiful and modern from the outside, but the rooms were unremarkable and rather worn.
