Good
Great location right next to water tower place and the handcock building. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Watch out for city taxes on the room, they totaled close to 40 dollars on our stay. All thing considered an excellent value.

First off the check in set up at this hotel is too tight! The lobby is crowded and small and there are not many people working the front desk. Our big problem was on departure. A cab that we were put into to go the airport was a nightmare. The cab driver was high and crashed at the airport onto the sidewalk. The Westin hotel should probably not let this company pick people up at their hotel.

I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Great location, consistent service. I've found most Westins to be of consistently good quality. The Westin Michigan Avenue was no exception. Location is the key value add of this property - steps from the great shopping and dining of Michigan Avenue. Service is good and overall the hotel staff is quick and efficient. I do think the property is a bit older than most, as I noticed a sign in the bathroom stating not to use both electrical outlets at once - right before the power went out from having both my hair dryer and straightener plugged in. Didn't take too long to get the power back - I did have to call the front desk for repair - but by that point I was stuck running downstairs to meet my boss with half-wet hair. That was about the only downside to my trip. Rooms are a bit more dim than most - the rooms are large and while there seem to be plenty of lamps, there just isn't much light. Some might call it romantic (and it can be!), but when you're working on a trip or trying to read a book, it's a tiny bit annoying. Internet access was solid and I had a work desk near the entertainment center, so it was possible to watch TV, surf the Web and talk on the phone in one small portion of the room. This is a solid hotel, and even with the power outage issue I'd still recommend it. To be fair, that was the only time I'd experienced that issue, and by the third time I visited the hotel (January 2006) the "don't use both sockets" sign was gone.

Ideal Location & Business Friendly. Great Michigan ave. location -- few minute jog to lakefront, Rush Street, Hancock Place... Friendly service caters to business folks. Just felt guilty putting this charge on a company expense report.
