The Westin Galleria Dallas Hotel

This is a really nice Motel 6 quality hotel but not a Westin. To start off with, they hustled us to get our luggage out of our car and said they'd bring it up. On our way up, I noticed our luggage cart setting in the middle of the lobby with no one watching over it. Anyone could have walked up and taken items off of the cart. I stayed there with the luggage for 10 minutes (while employees were standing around talking). Finally I took the cart myself and someone came to help me. I had emailed a week before and called the morning of our arrival asking them to thoroughly clean our room especially the carpets as we were bringing two toddlers. We get to our room and find somebody's empty sandwich container in the floor. When we talked to management, they basically blew us off. I got up at 6am to get ready and it took 10 minutes to get hot water to our 11story room. In short, this is a 35 year old , 1970's hotel that they have tried to fix up. The rooms are small (don't let the WIDE-ANGLE shots on the website fool you, they are typical 1970's hotel room small). They do have nice furniture but this isn't a Westin at $250 nite. It's a really nice $75 nite Motel 6.

We are fans of Westin properties and have stayed at the Westin Galleria in the past and been happy, however, right now it is undergoing a "rejuvenation". In other words, the place is a major construction zone.

Unless you pay for valet, you will be parking in an underground garage and entering the hotel through a back service entrance up a flight and a half of stairs. Also, we experienced nearly around the clock drilling, nailing and construction noise. We were actually awakened at 12 midnight to hammer sounds.

This property does not seem to have the signature comfortable beds of most Starwood properties. The convenience to the Galleria does not compensate for the hassle of not being able to get a good night's rest, or an afternoon nap.

The hotel was quiet and comfortable, with good food and a nice view. I enjoyed the exercise room and the pool. I would recommend this hotel to my mother.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: The staff was sharp and friendly, the bed was comfortable, there was a low noise level and it was very nice.

I always enjoy our stay at the Westin hotel. I love the rooms and the service.

It was pretty much as it could be expected of any hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The hotel had a beautiful scenery.
