The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa

Really beautiful setting. We were on the 25th floor with a corner suite. Lobby was stunning, as were the pools. Everyone was very nice except for room service, tried to order food at 11pm and was told there would be at least an hour wait after sitting on the phone for 10 mins.

Architecturally, the hotel is stunning. I had a suite that wrapped around the building with a large balcony. The view of the ocean was awesome.

The rooms were clean and modern with wall to ceiling windows. The bathrooms are very clean and luxurious.

I used the spa and liked it. It was large and had all the amenities you would expect from a high end spa.

There is not much to do within walking distance of the hotel. If you stay there, you will probably stay there. The restaurants were nice but none of them really jumped out at me. I was looking for something casual and easy but everything was high priced.

Check this hotel out and have fun.

I used the laptop I brought for my business trip on the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. It was in a padded case. I handed it to the bellhop on check-in, then stopped for a snack in the lobby. I arrived at my room ten minutes later to find the computer was brought to the room by the bellhop damaged and unusable after it was dropped on it's edge. This was followed by tortuous interviews with staff and security to report the incident and try to get back on my feet with a new computer so my four day stay was not wasted. Our host informed us that they were taking care of all tips during our stay and the staff knew that; but we cannot wonder if the computer was dropped because we did not tip the bellhop when he took it in the lobby and offered to take it to the room.

We will finish this review later. Right now, we're trying to get reimbursed for the computer that was damaged as well as some adjustment for a computer I had to purchase at the nearby Wal_Mart to get me back on my feet during the stay. I have not even asked for any adjustment for the 30 or so hours lost putting backed up data / software on a new computer. We'll see if they make any adjustment and we're talking to management now.

I have never been more angry with any company. Their sales staff is the worst. They will do anything to trick you into paying ridiculous prices. Their goal is not to make customers happy. They want all the money they can get from you and they don't care if they screw you in the process.
