This was our second visit to the Waldorf, despite having a previous not so good experience, we decided to give this Hotel another chance ! what a mistake.

Firstly our room was so small, it was like sleeping in a cupboard, the light from the hall way spilled into the bedroom under and around the door which would have been fine if the bed was not facing the door ! The Bath was peeling it's paint, where it had obviously been repainted - not very hygenic. The paintwork and decoration throughtout the room was very tatty to say the least.

I would like to ask what rooms do they put on their website, or do they only give the bad rooms out to overseas visitors ?

One day our room was not even made up for us, despite us having been out of the room for close on 8 hours.

Did we comment on these points to the management - no, what was the point, on our previous stay we had no hot water to have a shower (water pressure was too low) we were told to take baths, we advised management that was not an option as takes far too long to run, (have you seen the size of their baths) asked for room to be changed which we were advised would happen whilst we were out exploring NYC, only to return much later in the day to be informed that we had to move ourselves, but our new room was not ready for another 2 hours !

Sadly we will not be returning to this hotel. I get the feeling that the management think that they can survive on their reputation of years gone by - sadly this is not the case.

The only good point's of this hotel is the location and Oscars, where once again Oscars provided an excellent service with a great meal. Oh well you dont have to be a resident to eat at Oscars !

Every staff member we came in contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The room was large and extremely clean, with lots of character. The location of the Waldorf was excellent. It was easy to walk...

The Waldorf hotel is a one of a kind hotel in reputation and it meets that reputation. It is centrally located in New York City in the midst of some of the best shopping in the world.

The attitude of the staff was respectful without being patronizing.

The Waldorf Astoria hotel is a great hotel, with wonderful amenities and lots of options for food. Tourists do wander in and out of the lobby frequently so privacy is not a strength.

The front desk staff is extremely efficient and professional. The bellmen assist you with everything. Everyone addresses the guests with sir and madam.

I like the Waldorf hotel because of all the history associated with it and the beauty of the lobby. It is a great location, within walking distance of lots of Manhattan. It is comfortable without being intimidating or snobby.

It was a great location and the staff was very pleasant, efficient and helpful. Take advantage of the concierge recommendations. They have wonderful rooms and arrangements and a very accommodating housekeeping staff.

Piece of History. Really beautiful lobby. You can imagine how beautiful it was in the good old days. The common areas are still really nice. THe rooms are good, but not great. Location is perfect. Staff is helpful, but not stellar. All in all, a nice hotel with good rooms and a classic NY hotel.

I loved the location of this hotel but it was always very busy and loud. Also, the rooms were not that great.

It is the Waldorf Astoria hotel. It just has such a rich tradition and it is so beautiful.

The Waldorf is of course a classic hotel. The bed was the most comfortable I had ever slept in. The only problem I had was the doorman being rude when I needed a cab during rush hour to get to the airport.

It was my first business trip and the Waldorf made me feel like a VIP. They didn't treat me like some wide-eyed kid, which is how I felt.
