This hotel made me feel secure: They had lots of employees making sure that people in the hotel were treated as guests.

I thought, for the price, that they would provide fluffy bathrobes to wear.

The customer service and response to requests was less than expected. Overall, it was a disappointing stay because of the service. The hotel was classic, but there were a number of items in need of repair or updating.

I am not likely to return to the The Waldorf Astoria.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I stayed there because I went to a convention that was held there. Otherwise, probably would not have chosen it.

Hotel Review by a traveler from North Hollywood, CA - Posted Aug 3, 04
54 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

A staff 'lost' an essential medical item I had asked them to store in their refrigerator. Only after I had made several calls did they 'find' the wrong item. I had to call the most senior staff member on duty before the matter was resolved.

I am not likely to return to the The Waldorf Astoria.
I would not recommend it to friends.

It was a lifelong dream of mine to stay there and it was really worth it.

This hotel made me feel pampered: They sent us chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne because it was our anniversary. They also provided fluffy robes. Their service was good and unobtrusive.

I called the front desk 3 times to have a minor plumbing problem with the shower fixed. It was not fixed, however. But it was not a big problem.

This hotel made me feel secure: I was in NYC and the whole environment felt safe from the outside city. They had nicely-dressed security around the lobby at all hours.

Hotel Review by a traveler from Jacksonville, FL - Posted May 4, 04
40 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for business

I remember the room being dark, as though the lighting was not suited for the room. There was no full-length mirror in the bathroom, only on the back of a closet door in the opposite end of the room from the bath. And even that mirror was so old.

I am somewhat likely to return to the The Waldorf Astoria.

This is a wonderful hotel. It is first-class all the way. It really treats its guests like royalty.

Hotel Review by a traveler from Bethesda, MD - Posted Apr 21, 04
42 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business

The room was dingy and not what I expected. The staff was fantastic - they exceeded my expectations. They had such a great staff. Why don't they invest more in the room? Also, phone charges were outrageous! They didn't provide good hookups for laptop. There was no WiFi. It's a terrible hotel for a business traveler.

This hotel made me feel pampered: They had a very nice staff. They gave me a better room - a suite.
