Excellent
Great selection of everything. Some really pricey items you would not find just anywhere. When we were there the place was very busy, but we still got great service. Very friendly and knowledgeable too.

We stayed here with 3 kids and 3 adults in the 3 bed room and it was fine -- especially considering the location and the very affordable rate for Jackson Hole. It wasn't new, sexy or glamorous but it was clean, friendly, spacious enough for 6 persons and the kids loved the large patio and pool. And, they weren't stingy with towels. By the way, I thought the pics on the internet represented the place accurately. Once you enter to the patio you have no idea the highway is just a 200 feet away.
Another plus -- the restaurant. Reasonable prices, large portions and good food (kids loved it).

After making reservations and then reading some reviews we tried to change reservations but could not find affordable accomodations for twelve people that we could afford so we arrived with much anxiety. I don't know where the bad reviews came from. Our rooms were exactly as promised, they were clean and convient, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the restaurant was exceptional. We recognized we were not staying in a five star motel so a tv that could use a tune up was not unexpected. Thats the only thing that could use an improvement for us. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Older rooms with very old mattresses - beds not comfortable at all. My biggest complaint was the indifference of the staff. I made a phone call prior to our stay and was treated rudely and found the same attitude from everyone at the desk once we arrived. Jackson Hole Lodge a block down the road much better value and MUCH friendlier staff. Would have to be very desperate to return to Virginian again. Our oldest son traveled with us this time and he did enjoy the saloon and meeting the locals.

We chose this hotel after viewing the Hotel's website which showed hotel rooms surrounding a pretty grassy area with pool. What we found did not match the website at all. Sure there was a grassy area, but it was only adjacent to a few of the smaller rooms. The rooms with 2 queen beds are in a completely different building. That building is old and dumpy. It is moldy, mildewed and smells of smoke even in non-smoking rooms. Unlike the rooms surrounding the pool which each had their own exterior entrance- the older building had a main entrance where room entrances were off of a long dark, mildewy hallway. Only feet from this older building was a mobile home park which resembled a slum. Behind the building was tent camping where hundreds of people were packed into a small "camping area" parking lot. The entire environment was absolutely discusting !- not the kind of place anyone would want to enjoy themselves on vacation. Avoid this hotel. It is disgusting!

Date of stay July 6, 2007. Requested non-smoking due to allergies. Apparently a non-smoking sign on the door meets the requirement. Room reeked of smoke. Manager checked out room and told us it was the air freshener. Certainly won't use that air freshener if I ever find it. Manager and owner refused request for different room. The room appeared to need refurbishing. Picture on internet looking nothing like the actual motel. Smoking was allowed in and around pool area. Would not recommend for families, seniors, or business travelers.
