Okay
I stayed here for 10 days in January of 2007. The rooms were clean & comfortable and the staff very courteous and helpful. This hotel has been around for many years and enlarged piecemeal over that time. To management's credit, renovations...
Victorian Accoutrments at an affordable price.

Okay
While I found the Victoria the least visually appealing of the hotels I stayed in during my trip to Australia, I tried to keep in mind that they were renovating. The service was by far the best, which made up for a little dust here and there...
The carpets were gross - all floor space is unbelievably dirty including cigarette butts on stairs (how can this be?). The layout is confusing and maze like especially if you are on 8th floor and over the reception area where you can only access by ...
Loved it and will be back soon. My partners been there a few times but this was my first visit here. The rooms was great and the hotel lovely, loved all the history on the walls. Great atmosphere all round. The only little thing was the service...
If you truly enjoy staying in a dump

Horrible
If you truly enjoy staying in a dump that reminds you of the Ghetto, then this is your place. It is dirty, smelly, and just down right terrible. I wouldn't leave my dog there, let alone myself. Take my advice, pay the extra and stay at a nice hotel.
28 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel is about 126 years old. Its Victorian appearance is the grandest in Little Collins Street.
Its interior is clean, although it doesn't look new. The rooms are newly renovated and they are spacious. The price is slightly steep though. But the location is ideal as it is between Swanston St. and Russell St. Going to Chinatown, to Burke's St, to QVB square and States Library are within walking distance. It's less than 5 minute's walk to Flinders Station. Overall, the hotel is not bad, but it's pricey.

"I have been connected with a National association for the Catholic church and have meetings every year, with additional Conferences etc. I have chosen to stay here for over ten years. Now I have the added reason to stay as my son lives in Melbourne ...
Worse experience I have ever had!

Horrible
The room (one queen size bedroom) allocated for me was terrible and I barely sleep the entire night. The worse thing was that I was charged almost $100 per night per room for not able to sleep due the below reasons.
Shocking Rooms n Poor Service

Mediocre
Dark long passage ways to rooms make this hotel a scary experience. Extremely small and squeezy room even for an Asian standard. Even the door chain is installed wrongly! Handle to door so loose that it can drop off anytime! Service is bad and is...
