I would like to announce that this hotel is running under new management/ownership since November 2008.
Please consider that since then new staff was hired, rooms were remodeled. We do our best to offer our guests great service in a fantastic downtown location at reasonable prices.
Travelpost refused to remove reviews of the former hotel, but actually only the reviews since November 2008 apply.
29 year old with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
We stayed two days in this very conveniently located hotel. It is no Ritz, but works well if you know what to look for. It was clean, tiny and useful. Very much like budget hotels in major European cities. I had no problems whatsoever, and probably will stay there next time unless I hit the lottery.

Mediocre
Room was small. Curtains were torn. Sink was across the room from the bath room. Windows opened onto fire escape and felt insecure. TV was b/w, tiny and up over desk. Lobby not staffed and door was locked at night. Lock was difficult to open. ...
26 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The room was small, but ok and breakfast at Davids was good, but the service at the Touchstone was horrible! They offer a valet service and when our car was returned someone had torn through it. We found clothing that did not belong to us all over the place and our personal items missing, in addition to the drivers seat broken in a forward position. When we spoke to the touchstone manager about compensatig us for the $26.00 valet or the room he got angery and there is nothing he could do. When we asked to talk to someone above him he said "Only God is above me." My advice is to never stay here, who knows what will happen to you!
Quite dirty facade, decrepit elevator, no heat in room, unmentioned $26/day fee for parking, Pine-Sol fumes made my eyes water and triggered asthma upon entry into my tiny room. Tiny television, no shampoo or coffee maker, frayed towels. At $* a...

My boyfriend and I made reservations to stay at the hotel for our one year anniversary. It looked great in the pictures, so we were really excited.
We got there and could not believe the great location. The service from the valet and front desk was nice. Here comes the unpleasant surprise. The hotel was not at all what we expected. It smelled funky when we walked out of the elevator. Come in to our room to find dirty curtains, a tiny TV that seemed quite old on the top corner of the room, hair that did not belong to either of us in the bathroom and the bathroom window would not close. Needless to say, we did not stay there, and I had to end up calling my credit card company to refuse the charges.
I am still waiting for a call back from the "manager" to solve my reimbursement issue for the cancellation.
