34 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This was the worst travel experience I've had to date. The website and in-room journal describes a family who loving and painstakingly provide exemplary levels of customer service. These people have abandoned this Inn, which is now run by a teenage girl who spends the entire day and night laughing and horsing around in the kitchen with the other staff. There is no one there to help you find extra blankets, to ask questions about local attractions, etc. We had a power outage the first night and the fire alarms throughout the Inn beeped constantly all night because the battery back-ups were dead. We arrived in the dark and there was no one there to help us. We finally found the bartender, who was about to close, and she gave us a candle. The lights came on at 4:30 a.m., but the heat remained out the entire next day and well into the evening, as the staff couldn't figure out how to get it back on. To top it off, we were charged an amount that was $40 over the rate we agreed to, per night, the teenager offered us a $10 per night discount for the inconvenience! After repeated attempts to work with management on a resolution, he absolutely refused to budge and wanted only to offer me a discount toward a return visit, like I would want to go back! He went so far as to tell other guests that I was asking for a free weekend, which I never did. I honestly feel that he didn't even research my complaints. In addition, the rooms were filthy, the linens had deep brown staining, the sink was stained blue and the toilet in our room had numerous black stains which improved with flushing, leading me to believe they could have easily been cleaned. And like the other reviewer said, the water still runs smoking hot to freezing cold. I've never been treated so poorly as a customer in my life. I would not recommend this Inn to anyone. The morning chef was delightful and the food was good, but overall the experience was a total bust. If you want the homey B&B experience, go elsewhere!
