Offering top class accommodation, The Standard Downtown LA Hotel is a great place to stay for a luxury break in Los Angeles as it is an absolutely beautiful hotel with a stunning rooftop terrace and bar for guests to enjoy. Located in the very heart of The City of Angels just a block and a half from 7th Street subway station, The Standard Downtown LA gives guests easy access to all this fabulous place has to offer. The friendly staff pride themselves on providing the highest quality service and to ensuring you have everything you need during your vacation in LA. Make the most of the hotel's huge mezzanine lobby where you can relax on the 125-foot fuchsia Omnibus sofa by Vladimir Kagan, play a game of billiards or admire the Calder-inspired art installation by Jenny Holzer. The lobby bar serves cocktails and a light menu, accompanied by music. If you're organising a meeting or event, just ask the receptionists to direct you to the event rooms and spaces that this great LA hotel can provide. Dinner is served in the hotel restaurant best described as a California brasserie serving a tantalising menu of New American cuisine. The colourful interior features yellow booths, perfect for a romantic diner-style meal or on the outdoor patio by the flaming water fountain for the ultimate dining experience. Don't worry about piling on the pounds with all the delicious food you'll be devouring, in true LA style there is a fully-equipped gym at your disposal.

Having read so much about this hotel and having meetings downtown, I decided to stay for one night. At the risk of confirming my age, this hotel was a lot of fun, but I imagine could get on your nerves after a couple of nights.
The lobby is enormous and has a discotheque feel about it. The rooms are big and decorated in a very modern and minimalist style, a clear glass shower wall visible to the sleeping room, and a platform bed. Movies are shown on the neighboring building from the rooftop bar and pool. They have a good breakfast at the diner on the premises.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the The Standard, Downtown LA.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
