Offering top class accommodation, The Standard Downtown LA Hotel is a great place to stay for a luxury break in Los Angeles as it is an absolutely beautiful hotel with a stunning rooftop terrace and bar for guests to enjoy. Located in the very heart of The City of Angels just a block and a half from 7th Street subway station, The Standard Downtown LA gives guests easy access to all this fabulous place has to offer. The friendly staff pride themselves on providing the highest quality service and to ensuring you have everything you need during your vacation in LA. Make the most of the hotel's huge mezzanine lobby where you can relax on the 125-foot fuchsia Omnibus sofa by Vladimir Kagan, play a game of billiards or admire the Calder-inspired art installation by Jenny Holzer. The lobby bar serves cocktails and a light menu, accompanied by music. If you're organising a meeting or event, just ask the receptionists to direct you to the event rooms and spaces that this great LA hotel can provide. Dinner is served in the hotel restaurant best described as a California brasserie serving a tantalising menu of New American cuisine. The colourful interior features yellow booths, perfect for a romantic dinner or you can dine on the outdoor patio by the flaming water fountain. Don't worry about piling on the pounds with all the delicious food you'll be tasting, in true LA style there is a fully-equipped gym at your disposal.

Staff-- Rude & Inattentive to clients

** I want to thank this place for successfully sabotaging my girlfriends surprise b-day party. (Congrats--- at least you can get 5 stars for something "being complete f***-ups").

Hotwire.com placed me in The Standard-- one of the worst hotel
properties in the United States. Shame on Hotwire for telling people of tremendous savings and then putting them in a dump like The Standard/Los Angeles. There's no way I'll stay there again!

Since staying with the Standard several times over the last oouple of years ago, it has gone straight downhill. The hotel was dirty and soiled with the smell of old alcohol everywhere - in the elevator, on the floor where our room was located, dirty dishes & room service trays everywhere. The doors and every service was dirty and smugged, the parking attendants were only interested in the girls that were lurking about. This will be our last time staying at the Standard.
The food was as hot as the service!!

pros: great view food and serviceI am a local so i don't think to go "out on the town" in my neighborhood very often. I had some friends in town so I wanted to show them a truely LA spot without all of the BS. I hadn't been to the Standard in a...
my experience with this place was great, i had great staff to help me out, if you go onto the roof you see the whole city and its just incredible. the rooms were great and getting checked in was easy.
One of my favorite spots in LA. I love the rooftop, especially at night because you're surrounded by all the skyscrapers. Just a beautiful sight to see! Plus, they always have events there, which are usually...
pros: Atmosphere, DecorYou cannot beat the view from the top floor, however your patience may be tested if you go on a weekend and do not get in before a line forms.
