While the staff were friendly and welcoming and the location very convenient to shopping and restaurants, the accommodations fell short of my expectations for a boutique hotel. When I arrived at the room, there were nail clippings on the floor, hairs in the tub, and stains on the toilet. It was obvious that corners were cut to get the room ready in a hurry. I called the front desk twice to get the problems resolved. At checkout, I was charged one rate for the first night and an additional $20 for the second night because the hotel was overbooked. A phone call to the accounting department rectified this.

Peggy Terzides, the concierge was the most efficient and pleasant person we have ever dealt with at any hotel of any rating. Whatever they pay her is probably half what she's worth. The hotel was lovely and I liked that it was just off the...

The saying "you get what you pay for" certainly rang true with my encounter at the Silversmith Crowne Plaza. This is one of the many cons of booking hotel reservations online.

It was very large and had beautifully appointed rooms. It had a professional and very courteous staff. It is a little away from the heart of the Mile, but has immediate access to the Loop. The understated entrance is easy to miss driving by if you don't have the exact street address. I would definitely recommend it!
The layout and plush furnishings in the guestrooms were very welcoming. The oversized furniture arranged in conversational groupings around the fireplace in the lobby area was also very inviting.
I am very likely
to return to the The Silversmith Hotel Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
