Great Hotel, will stay again!. We stayed here for 5 days and really enjoyed ourselves. I have stayed at the Peppermill before and will actually stay at the Sands in the future. This hotel may be a little 70's looking on the outside but the inside has been remodeled and looks great. They are still remodeling the outside too. (The Peppermill is nice but is the most neon lighted hotel and casino there is…like it might give you a headache…lol… and it is much more crowded.) Our room at the Sands was VERY nice with a nice firm mattress. We both slept great. During our stay we went to other casino's to play and ended up back at our hotel because it seemed the slots and table games were paying out MUCH better! They have several areas to eat, including an original Mel's Diner, Arby’s and Tony Roma’s. We ate at both Mel’s & TR’s and also their cafe and it was great. The café makes just about everything you can think of… you must try the calzone if you go there!!! They also have a steak buffet for $11.99! (oh there is room service too if you want it!) We already made another reservation for this same hotel. The others we visited were way too crowded and you could hardly walk. It was nice to return to our hotel!! The staff is VERY nice and helpful. I guess the previous people had some issues but I liked the hotel and the room was remodeled and perfect...and the room is the reason you are staying there!! And the food was great!! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because it isn't a 5 star hotel it is a 3 star but basically the only thing you aren't getting is a coffee maker in your room (big deal, their cafe has great flavored lattes) or a mint on your pillow... ha I can get over that...LOL The 5 star was labeled "Perfect, it doesn't get any better" well several hotels can be better than a 3 star but you have to be willing to pay for it. Why not stay in a cheaper hotel and just go to the other casino's during the day like we did :) It was very nice and I would bring even my son here. Great hotel, great stay!
