Mediocre
We stayed at the Capt. West House, it had Plain walls with old, outdated pictures,1 was even falling out of the frame, and dumpy curtains and old dingy bedspread. Floor was nice old wood, but dirty! NO DIRECT PARKING FOR INN! You must park block...
29 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My husband and I looked at the pictures online and decided to book the Valentines Day package. The pictures showed cozy rooms and plenty of charm. After arriving to the Inn we were told that there wasnt a parking lot that we had to park on the street. This was a surprise since on their website it says free parking just a little deceiving! We checked in gave our credit card and headed up to our romantic getaway. What we found was astonishing to say the least. I walked in to what was a dingy room in disrepair. Old yard sale type furniture, yellowed bedspread and a curtain hanging in the corner acting as a closet and our champagne was floating in warm water. As we walked into the bathroom we realized that the door on the other side of the bathroom led to the main hallway that was directly above the check-in. The door didnt close very well and had a gap at the top. This allowed for us to hear everything taking place in the main lobby and for the people checking in to hear our every movement. Not my idea of romance! We were not going to have this lack of privacy at an astonishing $180.00/night. We grab our bags and headed down to the clerks desk. We were told that there wasnt anything they could do they were completely booked. I heard what they said and asked about the sign in the room stating that they will make sure our stay is right. The clerk at the desk replied sorry we cant change this. At this time I also learned that they had charged us for the second night and couldnt refund us because the manager was not there. We left and went to another hotel. 3 months later we are still trying to get back at least our second night which they charged before we saw the room. Dont waste your time here there are much better places and better service all around the city of Salem!

Okay
My husband and I stayed here 03/2007. The room was nice and the fireplace cozy but the 20 something staff was extremely loud. The girls were loud, chatting on their cell phones, and seemed as if they were bothered if you had a question. The...
