The Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel and Spa

The building and grounds are terrific....particularly on a cool, sunny weekend. Of course, much of the weekend, the courtyard and the Japanese garden were closed to the public for weddings, christenings, etc.

The service was poor. The doorman was non-existent for much of the time; transportation was ordered through concierge but it was "every man for himself" when you went to the front to get your taxi; room service was slow and didn't get orders correct; the restaurant was so overwhelmed for breakfast that literal fights were breaking out among guests waiting to get in.

This hotel is pure luxury. The food was delicious, the bar was great with the live jazz band and the staff treated you like royalty. Everything was exceptional.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: They pay fine attention to detail and the staff is extremely courteous. The hotel decoration and theme were luxurious.

The service was pretty good, but a little slow.

This is a wonderful historic hotel that I highly recommend for anyone who appreciates classic architecture and luxury accommodations.
