female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I stayed there for three nights and the room was lovely - but smaller than I'd expected, as is the hotel. The roomservice and breakfast were great as you'd expect from the ritz carlton. however, the valet parking was a complete joke. they use a third party service there who insisted I needed to pay $25 for parking each time I asked for my car despite the fact it was included in my room. I had to haggle every time with them and then be admonished for not having the proper paperwork posted in my car. One of the attendents raised his voice to me. Sorry, but the RC is a 5 star hotel and you don't expect to be scolded there. Surely they could have done something to mitigate this, but they failed to do that and the concierge even passed the buck to the third party and asked me to make a comment as to how bad their service was. All in all, the valet made for this to be a rather annoying experience. Bottom line, third party is third party, however, they do represent the RC and the RC is responsible for their policy towards dealing with customers.
From the moment you drive on to the property and are greeted by the bellhop, every possible need has been anticipated and provided for. If you are not in a position to do the luxury hotel/resort stay on a regular basis, then you want those special occasions, like an anniversary weekend, to really BE special. We were checked in and again welcomed at the front desk and quickly taken to a lovely room. Our evening meal was just excellent, live music and drinks after were very relaxing, and each person on the staff, was so courteous that we felt right at home.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful hotel, and I'm sure we will find some excuse to visit again soon.

Good
Would have had an unbelievable stay on all other criteria. However, we were in the room behind the elevator and relentlessly heard the motor. Needless to say, we did not sleep much because of this.
