Rude Managment and Needs updating – Posted Feb 02, 2009

Okay
66 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

I stayed here with my husband and grandchildren in August of 2008. I must say that the staff are very pleasant and eager to help. But I am appalled by managements treatment of their staff. While eating lunch in the Restaurant I saw the manager follo

Mediocre
31 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

My girls and I were really looking forward to staying at the resort the weekend before school started - and the girls did have a wonderful time. Our room was poolside and the outdoor pools are beautiful! Unfortunately, the room included stained bedspreads, a moldy shower curtain, and a dead fly on the wall. And the pools were so cloudy once we got in - it was a real turnoff. Plus the hot tub was having a "pilot light issue" during our stay.

The resort is within minutes of both Bagnell Dam and the "main drag" of outlet malls. Parking spots are sparse near the pool and more generous near the conference center - but that is a rather long walk with luggage. The view from the restaurant's patio includes tons of trees and only a sliver of the lake and marina below. The miniature golf course is actually built on a hillside between the road to the marina and the hotel driveway. If you are a little too enthusiastic with your stroke, your ball will end up at the marina itself.

The general staff is very friendly and helpful - especially at the restaurant. However, the manager that I spoke following my stay was rather brisk and impolite. And, obviously, housekeeping could use glasses.

I booked this hotel based on information from their website and a co-worker's recommendation. (She had stayed the summer before last right after the hotel went independent.) I found out after my stay that the hotel's management changed recently. Had I known, I may have considered somewhere else - regardless, after our stay I know I will stay elsewhere next time.

Good
45 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

We traveled with our family (teens to small kids) and while it is not super fancy, we enjoyed it. Everyone was very nice. The pool indoor and outdoor pool was great. They had lots of activities we could do on property. Good value for the money. Not fancy but homey

Okay
38 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

We stay here twice a year on our way to our hometown in Iowa. After a long drive, my kids enjoy the outdoor and indoor pools. We are able to watch the kids swim outside, and order a pizza from their restaurant, sit poolside and enjoy the summer evening! They also have a free mini-golf course my kids enjoy. Each room has a small frig and microwave, which is handy for a popcorn snack after swimming! It's not a five-star place...but it is clean and works for us!

They were a little expensive and they didn't have the continental breakfast like others do, the beds are not very comfortable.

I felt entertained there because the pool area had a DJ during the day and games and entertainment were provided.

I felt pampered there because they delivered a basket with goodies in it to my room.

We were a little disappointed. It was not very attractive inside the rooms, the color scheme, the beds weren't very comfortable, it needs updating! Also, the parking was horrible. We weren't real happy with the restaurant, either.
