This was a thing to do, at least once. We live in the area and we have wanted to stay at the Queen Mary hotel for the experience.

I am not likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I might recommend it to friends.

29 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

I visit the Queen Mary hotel at least once a year and I think of it as a home away from home. The service is wonderful, the rooms are amazing, they are redecorated to the original thirties style and furniture. You go back in time the second you step foot on this beautiful ocean liner. It is a dry docked living museum. Overall, it is one of my favorite places to go.

This hotel made me feel inspired: Staying on the Queen Mary hotel invigorates the soul. It gave me the energy and the strength to deal with life's problems afterwards, it is a much needed mental vacation. It inspired me to not only learn more about the ship but also to appreciate life and all it has to offer.

I am very likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This hotel is perfect for pre or post cruising from Long Beach Harbor.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: The decor was beautiful and the dining room was posh.

I am very likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Upon arrival, the staff was courteous and helpful. The problem was the reservations. The rooms we reserved were not the rooms we received. This happened to more than one person in our party.

I am not likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I might recommend it to friends.

The beds were as comfortable as a piece of plywood on the floor. The ship smelled and was not easy to get around. There was no help to the rooms or how to get there. The food was overpriced, and their coffee was cold the first and the second time we told them. When checking out, they didn’t care about any of the problems, either.

I am not likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I was so excited to be going to this hotel! From the pictures and one review on Cruisemates, I envisioned the splendor of cruises times gone by.

Well if you love must, mildew and mold smells that will set your allergies off, then by all means, visit.

Nothing has been done to preserve the elegance this ship must once have had. The "ghost" tour takes you down into the boiler rooms and a long deserted pool which are so stifling & moldy it's hard to breathe.

In our room, the bathroom in the pictures is what it looks like, if you neglect cleaning it. It wasn't the shining sparkling one in the photo. No way I'd ever get into that tub.

Our upgraded cabin/room did have the air vents shown in the pictures, but they didn't even cool the muggy air in the cabin and in the front part where my child was to have slept there was no ventilation whatsoever.

We checked our sweaty, stuffed nosed selves out at 2:30 am and nobody even cared if there was a reason. And there were plenty beyond what I've mentioned here even.

I am a travel agent, I check out all kinds of places high and low end and everything in between with an open mind. I have never felt less welcomed or cared about nor more completely disappointed, I felt sad for this once lovely ship.

What you see in the website’s pictures is not what you get. For anyone looking to get a feel for what a cruise is like-this is not it, not even close.

I am not likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I would not recommend it to friends.

The hotel overall was great. The only issues I had were with the staff. Every time we had a question and asked a staff member it was like we were bothering them. They were not very helpful.

I am very likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The Queen Mary was a world-class ocean liner in 1934 with famous names on its manifest, like Winston Churchill, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and many movie stars. The ship is docked in Long Beach, and the tide gently rocks you to sleep in your simple but elegant stateroom.

Most enjoyable of all is taking a tour of the engine room and troops' quarters when the ship carried Eisenhower and a record 6,000 soldiers. There is history everywhere and nostalgia, if you remember World War II.

I am very likely to return to the The Queen Mary.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
