They had excellent service and a wonderful staff. I loved the great wine and cheese hour each evening.

This hotel made me feel important: They paid prompt attention to needs. They were going the extra mile to ensure we got to do the things we wanted, like sightseeing or restaurant reservations.

We visit Savannah often and try all kinds of hotels. We prefer to stay adjacent to River Street for easy access. The Planters Inn was on our list. We booked online thru Orbitz and paid $136. We had a sixth floor room overlooking the parking deck. We had expected this from previous reviews. These are the cheap rooms. If you want to pay over $200 in season you can get a park side view room.

I always snoop and checked out the other rooms. One had a fireplace, and all seem to have a little different floor plan which is part of the charm I feel. The personnel are very polite and helpful. We had no problems with any service area. Our TV remote was dead and one was brought up to us immediately. They booked our dinner reservations, stored our luggage (we arrived before check- in),answered questions regarding sightseeing, etc.

The complimentary wine and cheese was nice. We could mingle a little. The piped in classical music drove my hubby crazy. The rooms were well appointed overall, very clean and surprisingly for an insomniac it was very quiet! They don't have much dresser space, however. But skip the breakfast, we liked ours the previous day better at the Ramada Limited. Go to Huey’s on River Street and they have a delicious New Orleans breakfast!
