Hotel critic and travel writer Dale Northrup, CTC turns innkeeper in this 1830 Federal-style brick rowhouse in Portland's trendy West End Historic District, at Longfellow Square. Shrouded by coffeehouses, antique shops and more than a dozen restaurants within two minutes walk, the inn is centered within historic neighborhood laden with landmark buildings and significant architectural treasures. Amenity-rich rooms and suites capture the essence of the Federal period with conveniences and business amenities usually reserved for larger deluxe establishments. Yankee magazine calls us "irrepressible" and Chicago Tribune says "If we had booked far enough ahead, we would have stayed here."

The owner has gone above and beyond with this B&B! There are so many small touches that most places leave out that make this place instantly welcoming and like home. The rooms are charming and some are quite large. The price couldn't be beat! It was ...

Okay
Great location, good service, great breakfast and snack offerings, great DVD selection. Nice touch: in the summer, a bottle of frozen water when you hit the road. Drawbacks: wifi did not work and a whole set of the lights in our room never worked,...

I have stayed at the Percy Inn 3 times and the experience has been wonderful! It is clean and comfortable. The environment and breakfast are lovely. Across the street is a bar so I would recommend staying in a back room if at all possible.

I would have to agree with the poster who sent Dale an email complaint. We stayed there for my partner's birthday weekend, and although we liked the idea of the 2nd floor pantry, the juice was VERY spoiled and the "instant coffee" were actually...

Excellent
This classic B&B was the perfect blend of beauty, service, charm and solitude. You would think that you were the only ones here, if not for the wonderful breakfast spread that awaits you in the morning.

We were steered here from the tourist office and were favored with wonerdul rates - about 30 percent less than others and it included breakfast - sort of a continental plus style but plenty to choose from. All the rooms were different but handsome...
