This place is a dump. While we were in the process of checking in at about 9:30 p.m., another guest showed up at the front desk to complain that the A/C in her room still wasn't working after it supposedly had been fixed. It was a nice balmy 98 degrees outside. At the time, I wondered why she hadn't called the front desk instead of showing up in person. I soon found out. As we waited for the keys to our room, we could easily hear the person who was helping us ask someone on the phone if our room was ready. Keep in mind it was 9:30 p.m., I wondered why there was a question whether or not the room was ready?? After some back and forth between the two, we were given the keys. Turns out the issue had been the toilet -- it didn't work -- and the guy at the front desk was well aware it. After several attempts calling the front desk to complain, no answer, we decided to show up in person. We were told the maintenance person had just left for the day, and there were no available rooms that we could move to. We ended up pouring trash cans full of water in the commode to "flush" it. Lucky for us we were only there for the night before checking into a Disney hotel the next day. When we reported the broken toilet the next morning at checkout, the reaction from the hotel employee was indifference. I feel sorry for the person who had to clean that bathroom because we left a little something for them. We're hoping their disgust will force them to fix the thing so that no other guests will have to deal with what we had to deal with. But at least we had A/C, and no bugs.

I was very leary of this place and when we arrived we couldnt miss the place. There was a huge hotel being built next door and such an ugly eye sore. We(husband and I) arrived early after an early flight and were told by staff we couldnt check in til 3pm no matter what.We napped in our car for a few hours out front, it was ridiculous. The girl said housekeeping wasnt ready for the room yet but she never picked up a phone to see.We finally had to beg to get a room at 2pm. The carpeting down the hallways smelled like urine.I was afraid to see the room.Surprisingly the room was ok. The carpets were filthy,my feet were black. The beds were clean and there was no toilet paper.I had to steal some off the maids cart. The ac worked good that was about it.I felt a bit unsafe there and wouldnt walk alone towards the evening .Especially by the pool area.People were a bit scary at this hotel. The staff was rude as well. And Im a New Yorker !!

I have read all of the bad reviews for this hotel and found all to be false. Rooms were freshly painted and the carpets and beds were clean. The carpets in the halls very pretty but be rooms were good. The staff was helpful and checked my group in without a single problem. One room had to be changed due to a problem in that room. But it was done quickly and we were given an upgrade. Our group is from the OLIVET FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH in Memphis, Tennessee. We had 44 people and 14 rooms. This is a good basic hotel.

My sister and our 4 children stayed in this hotel for 2 hours after being eaten alive by bugs in our beds palmetto bugs in the kitchen a filthy bathroom, old and filthy pillows full of boogers and tiny bugs. This was the worst hotel with the most rude workers that I've ever been in and I travel alot. I can't believe that Expedia rates this hotel as a 3.5 it should be a less than 1. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. I would recommend no one bother to stay in this hotel not even for a minute....Fortunately we ended up in the Ramada where everyone was over friendly Security all over to make you feel secure. I would recommend the Ramada hands down.

First of all the first night I stayed there I go to put my 4 year old son to bed and there were bugs inside my bed crawling all over the pillows, I reported it to the front desk and they said they did not have a room for us to switch to. I almost started to cry and said well what am I supposed to do? The rude front desk clerk said so check out, then I don't know what to tell you...!!! If that isn't enough one night I came back to my new room and it was wide open!!! We locked the door and it was open!! I needed to extend my stay and the front desk told me I can't add another day that I would have to check out then check back in at 3. I thought that was ridiculus! The place was not taken care of, there were feces on the pool deck! And the people were extremely rude and incompetent.

Mediocre
The place is in need of updating. The extra resort fee was a joke. The shuttle was so overcrowded that we stood on the shuttle to get to the park. No pans in the kitchen to cook with and the A/C quit after two days. When someone knocked on the door...

We enjoyed our stay at the Palms Main Gate East. We had a suite and it was so big and relaxing and allowed our infant son to really move around. The kitchen was adequate and enough to feed my family in our room. My biggest complaint that was not fixed nor handled well was the carpet. It was so disgustingly filthy that I wouldn't allow my husband or my son to walk around without socks. Our feet literally turned black. The rest of the stay was very nice. Continental breakfast was adequate for free and the staff was mediocre. I would suggest if you want to stay there, check the room out before you sign anything.

After being out all day, My wife and I came back and found the door to our room propped open. Fortunately nothing was stolen. Then about an hour later another guest was issued a key to our room and came in on my wife and I. I filed an incident report with the manager on duty when we checked out and was told we would be contacted by the general manager. We are still waiting.
This hotel is dangerous and you stay there at your own risk.

Hotel or bookit.com or both canceled our reservation due to overbooking. Maybe it would have been nice for one of them to notify us of that fact before we arrived in Florida! Neither hotel nor bookit.com took responsibility for the error although the reservation had been signed, sealed, and paid for at least 3 weeks in advance. The hotel offered no support AT ALL and TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY for a booking agent that they employ. It was infuriating to say the least! Bookit did book us in a nearby hotel but not until we waited a long 5 hours to speak to a representative. To their shame, they placed us in a hotel with less amenities (no free breakfast) and offered us no compensation for our loss and had poor excuse of a bath (no bathtub!). We might kindly suggest to anyone considering using either bookit.com or Palms Hotel, to steer clear! In spite of this, we had a great time at Disney! Boo yah!

this hotel is very nice, it is clean quiet , and doesn't smell funny.
the only thing i did not like was that the windows did not open, i mean really, if we were going to jump we wouldn't do it from the fourth floor.
the only other thing is the speed bumps, they need to be painted, perhaps with a glow in the dark paint , this would be very helpful to those of us who are gettin older , not yet requiring glasses.
