Beware of Room 510!

We enjoyed our stay at the Palms Main Gate East. We had a suite and it was so big and relaxing and allowed our infant son to really move around. The kitchen was adequate and enough to feed my family in our room. My biggest complaint that was not fixed nor handled well was the carpet. It was so disgustingly filthy that I wouldn't allow my husband or my son to walk around without socks. Our feet literally turned black. The rest of the stay was very nice. Continental breakfast was adequate for free and the staff was mediocre. I would suggest if you want to stay there, check the room out before you sign anything.

DANGEROUS SECURITY PROBLEMS

After being out all day, My wife and I came back and found the door to our room propped open. Fortunately nothing was stolen. Then about an hour later another guest was issued a key to our room and came in on my wife and I. I filed an incident report with the manager on duty when we checked out and was told we would be contacted by the general manager. We are still waiting.
This hotel is dangerous and you stay there at your own risk.

YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!

Hotel or bookit.com or both canceled our reservation due to overbooking. Maybe it would have been nice for one of them to notify us of that fact before we arrived in Florida! Neither hotel nor bookit.com took responsibility for the error although the reservation had been signed, sealed, and paid for at least 3 weeks in advance. The hotel offered no support AT ALL and TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY for a booking agent that they employ. It was infuriating to say the least! Bookit did book us in a nearby hotel but not until we waited a long 5 hours to speak to a representative. To their shame, they placed us in a hotel with less amenities (no free breakfast) and offered us no compensation for our loss and had poor excuse of a bath (no bathtub!). We might kindly suggest to anyone considering using either bookit.com or Palms Hotel, to steer clear! In spite of this, we had a great time at Disney! Boo yah!

this hotel is very nice, it is clean quiet , and doesn't smell funny.
the only thing i did not like was that the windows did not open, i mean really, if we were going to jump we wouldn't do it from the fourth floor.
the only other thing is the speed bumps, they need to be painted, perhaps with a glow in the dark paint , this would be very helpful to those of us who are gettin older , not yet requiring glasses.
we liked it

Yhe room was OK, the breakfast not that great. No protein. The rooms need to be updated, and the beds are very hard and too small. The tiles were cracked, and it could have smelled a little fresher in the room also. Hotel staff was o.k. we were able to check in early and had a very quiet room 626. Rooms were clean every time we returned from the parks. A little mildew in the shower. the room was very spacious. Just like any other hotel you have some good and some bad say so, but overall this maybe nice for some people, and don't get me wrong it was o.k for me, but I would not stay again.

Not worth the money

First of all this property resides on what used to be a Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites and the company (Lexington) states that they are newly renovated units. This is an understatement; ceiling lighting fixtures were loose if not hanging, the shower curtains were moldy and the color on the televisions provided were way off with no way available to adjust with the standard remote. The regrigerator door opened from the opposite side from the photos shown on most sites making it difficult to get to the contents in the fridge. I had to put in several calls to have a light bulb replaced and have the dishwasher properly function. I was quite reluctant to lodge at this property after reading other negative reviews but decided to give them a try - regretfully so. Should you decide to venture and lodge at the Palms Hotel and Villas I would suggest that you print every page of your revervation confirmations. You will not receive a confirmation from the comapny itself and they will tax you again when you arrive. Since there is no price breakdown on the last page of your online reservation there is no real way around it. Print-screen on every page of your reservation - especially the page detailing the tax breakdown. You should also ensure that you get a room on the upper floor of the villas (Homewood Suites) units as you WILL hear anyone walking above your unit. The floors will creak and keep you up if you are a light sleeper.
They should implement some kind of Q&A before allowing the unit(s) to become available to travelers. Sure, they offer a breakfast buffet and free transportation to most parks but if you have your own rental car you will still be charged a $7.95 surcharge each night for such items - whether you use it or not.

The room we stayed in was not remodeled and the carpets were threadbare and stained. This is the only negative aspect of my stay.
This hotel made me feel content: I liked its location in relation to WDW. It's pet-friendly.

We were very pleased with Homewood Suites. It made our vacation to Disney extremely affordable.
This hotel made me feel secure: It was well lighted. Good locks were on the doors. Our car was always parked within viewing range of our room. There were always lots of staff around the grounds.

I will never go back there, we travel for over 15 years as a family and never saw this before. The bath was leaking, the kitchen was full of ants, cockroaches were in bathroom. It was so bad.

I had some issues with the condition of the property and maintenance services. The attitude of some of the staff was poor. The new furniture was a good choice (nice beds). It could be a real nice place if only it were better managed and maintained. I would even expect to pay more for the stay.

I liked the location but was a little disappointed in the appearance of the hotel. Although clean, it looked a little run down and not well maintained. We had a broken window in our room and a couple of broken tiles in the bathroom. Otherwise it was okay.

There was no ice tray in the freezer, maybe the last person took it, but the cleaning staff should've checked.
This hotel made me feel relaxed: I didn't have to worry about anything, except that there was no ice in the freezer and then of course no ice machine.
