The Orleans is one of the few genuinely kid-friendly hotel/casinos on or near the strip. It has a bowling alley, multiplex theater, and arcade game room. Also, there is a kid’s club where you can leave your child if you want to sneak off to the casino floor for a little while. Our 7 year old loved it, and would have been happy staying there all day! The buffet is good, service is friendly, and there are tables for cheapskates like me who only like to play $2 hands.
I have stayed at the MGM and the Aladdin, and find the rooms at the Orleans to be comparable (comparing standard rooms at each location) despite the Orleans' lower room rate. While it is slightly off the strip (within walking distance if you're relatively athletic), I understand there is a shuttle to the strip, although I never used it. When I bring my family with me to Vegas, I won't stay anywhere else.
