Location. The privately owned Orchard Hotel is a boutique property located two blocks from Nob Hill and Union Square in San Francisco, Calif. The theater district is positioned three blocks away. Hotel Features. Opened in 2000, the non-smoking Orchard Hotel boasts a marble-clad lobby decorated with a waterfall fountain and a bronze-cast statue dubbed Spring Awakening. The hotel chef purchases produce for The Daffodil Restaurant from small organic farms and prepares dinners of New American cuisine. Gracious table settings include linen tablecloths, Rosenthal china and jewel-handled Athena-pattern silverware. Fanciful lighting illuminates a bar that serves whole-leaf teas, specialty cocktails and more than 100 selections of wine. The hotel's function room provides natural lighting and accommodates up to 20 people. A lobby laptop computer is available for guest use, and 24-hour front desk staff offer fax and photocopy services. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided in public areas. I agree with other reviewers that the hotel was great; clean, great customer service, free WiFi in the room and you can catch a ride on the cable car only steps from the main entrance. The only negative was that the cost for parking was VERY high...
