Very nice old hotel. The rooms were small, but clean. The bedding seemed new. The hotel sign was right outside of our window. It was lit all the time, but the shades in the room blocked out the light at night. The continental breakfast was...

We enjoyed our short stay at The Opal!!!!!! The staff were very helpful. Our car was secure. We were close to public transportation. The 24 hours we were in San Fransico were jam packed with tourist things. The staff heped us enjoy as much as...
First, what is "shocking" about $25.00 for parking your car in SF? We asked AHEAD of time, no surprises. This is a charming European type older hotel and the price is very inexpensive for SF--which I have searched out and could not find anything below $175 and NO parking! The hotel is convenient, has lots of snack places to eat close by and also a breakfast buffet in the morning. If you want luxury, go to one of the big chains and stop your whining about checking in on a day you didn't have a reservation then expect the world to stop for you.
