The Oberoi Group's hotel in Jaipur broke new ground when it opened in July, 1997, setting new standards for luxury leisure hotels. The Rajvilas provides a luxurious setting in which discerning travelers can enjoy 30 acres of orchards, gardens, decorative pools and fountains. The hotel is built with meticulous detail, re-creating a traditional Rajasthani Fort setting. A key feature of the landscape is a large lotus-filled water body in which floats an old temple on a center island. A Haveli or traditional Rajasthani mansion has been restored to its former beauty and will contain the hotel's world class spa.

Reviving the lifestyles of Indian royalty, Jaipur's Oberoi Rajvilas resort presents a palatial getaway on 32 acres of gardens, pools and fountains in northwest India's peaceful Rajasthani countryside. Guests are treated to safaris aboard elephants, horseback riding, and excursions to palaces, waterfalls, temples and bazaars. Dining is an experience unto itself. With stately Rajasthani décor, sculpted pillars, scalloped arches and handcrafted brass doors, the Surya Mahal offers light fusion cuisine with Asian and European elements, complemented with Rajasthani culinary delights in traditional silver thalis. In the outdoor courtyard, guests can dine while enjoying Indian classical music and traditional Rajasthani folk dances. After dinner, guests can retreat to the resort's Rajwada Library and Bar, where Burmese teak flooring, a white Italian marble fireplace, backgammon and shelves of leather-bound books define royal ambience. For pampering, the Oberoi Spa by Banyon Tree in the resort's mansion is a tranquil haven, with Ayurvedic, Asian and Western relaxation and beauty treatments. The spa overlooks the heated pool, which is framed by pink sandstone torches and two domed chattris. A resident peacock occasionally meanders through the gardens. The resort also features banquet and conference facilities, Internet access, business and fitness centers, and tennis courts. The Oberoi Rajvilas' 54 guestrooms feature tranquil courtyards, green marble flooring, balconies, four-poster beds, and sunken Italian marble bathtubs looking into private gardens. Amenities include satellite television, CD and DVD players, Internet access, safes, refrigerators, minibars, ceiling fans, coffeemakers and bathrobes. Fourteen air-conditioned Rajasthani luxury tents offer teak floors and Edwardian-style claw-foot bathtubs. With arches, pillars, reflective pools, tented canopies and hand-embroidered fabrics, the Oberoi Rajvilas resort stands as an ideal retreat for guests to experience the palatial treasures of Jaipur.
