The Myrtle Beach Resort Hotel

Resort was great, but I booked a Ocean front room and was given a room one half mile away from beach.

The efficency was a little smaller than expected. Everything else was great.

Great Place, but watch out for RVS. This is a Resort of individually owned condos. Some owners rent themselves and some use rental companies and real estate agents. There are two rental companies onsite. Forget what the description heading says about all the extra fees. That is just one of the rental companies operating at the Resort named Resort Vacation Services (RVS). They charge 12% tax? Sorry but the SC hotel tax is 10%. You would have to ask them where that other 2% is going. Then after they've ripped you off on the tax, they tack on 6 other fees. Where is all this going? You got me, but other owners and rental companies do not charge them. More money in RVS's pockets? You would think that by paying all of these extras and getting charged up the wazoo in the end, you'd get a nice condo. Think again. RVS's units tend to be dirty and run down and heaven help you if you ever have a problem. Their staff is virtually non responsive. On our last trip, we stayed with the other rental company there and what a difference! We had a very nice condo, not all those extra fees, and a very nice staff. The difference was like night and day. So, now we know why the ratings for this Resort vary from wonderful to terrible. Our advice? Well the Resort is a very nice place, just watch who you rent from and know what you are getting BEFORE you arrive.

I liked how clean the resort was and all the things to do within the resort. I did not like the fact that they had switches but no fixtures that they belonged to. There was one opening in the ceiling.
