The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe

We have been vacationing in Stowe for almost 25 years and until recently we owned our own house. Fuel costs and insurance became too much and we sold it. Our home away from home has always been The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe. We knew the original owner, the second owners and now the third owner. All seem to be cut from the same cloth of hospitality, attention to detail and exceptional service. We love the freshly baked muffins - loaded with fruit! Eric the owner makes muffins fresh every day! We love his dog Vanilla who is always at his side. One thing that has never changed during the years is how absolutely spotless the rooms are. The resort is beautiful and spread out over what I've been told is now 16 acres. The grounds have to be seen to believed and are just amazingly beautiful.

We love the clay tennis court and always make time for an afternoon bike ride on the stowe bike path across the street. You can't go wrong at a locally owned place like the Mountain Road Resort!

I'm an old Stowe hand and have been coming to Stowe for years. This year we tried The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe and loved it. The hotel is not owned by a huge chain, the owner and staff go out of their way to make sure you are greeted warmly and personally. As opposed to other larger places in Stowe you will feel like you are at YOUR home away from home and not the impersonal guest of some huge corporation. We love the locally sourced products they serve at breakfast and that the room and facility is spotlessly clean and the careful attention given to each detail - from the hot cookies on arrival to being greeted by our names by each staff member! AAAA!!! fantastic and highly recommended.

We booked into the Old England Inn and one look at the room had us running to the front desk to check out - what a nasty mess. The sheets were stained. The carpet had holes worn in it and the bathroom was the stuff of nightmares. We drove around randomly until we settled on The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe. The rooms are SPOTLESS! The staff was amazing and added just the right personal touches. We loved the afternoon tea and snacks and the kids loved the freshly baked cookies and muffins served every day. It's a small boutique hotel and we highly recommend it to everyone. A great value versus almost every other hotel in Stowe
