The room was beautiful. The bathroom is quite small. I was traveling solo, so it was fine, but I think it would be far too small for a couple or family. The rooms are bright, clean, modern, and comfortable. The beds are so unbelievably comfortable! My view was not great, but it was okay.
You have to walk a huge distanct through the casino to get anyplace in the hotel. The casino is dark and incredibly smokey. You have to walk a winding path through the casino to get anyplace, so allow an extra 10-15 minutes just to get out of the building each time.
The Mirage is absolutely "the young place." It attracts a very young crowd. That doesn't mean you wont' find more middle aged people and families there, but the night life caters to the 20-somethings. Be forewarned.
I was disappointed when the housekeeping staff picked up my bag full of souveniers from a tour I took and threw them away. That was very disappointing, as I couldn't replace them. The hotel did try to make it up to me, so I can't really complain, but it was disappointing. I'll get over it.
The biggest negative is the casino. If you are a smoker, you will love it, but I am not. It is the darkest, smokiest place I have ever seen. You have to walk through the casino to get to anyplace, and by the time you come out on the other side, you will reak of cigarette smoke. I went to four other large hotel casinos while I was there, and none of them were dark and smokey like the Mirage.
If you want to swim in the pool, that is fine, but if you want to lay out you must get there early. The chairs all "fill up" (read: mysteriously have towels draped across them) and you can't get a chair for the rest of the day. I went just to swim, but if you are a sunbather, be forewarned. Towels are provided, but you will pay for everything else. If you want a float, it will coast $15 per day. Drinks are a premium price (they don't even list hte prices at their snack bar.)
The food is very overpriced, but there is a McDonalds, an Outback, a Subjway, and a Denny's across the street, which really helped with lower priced meals. The food at the Mirage's buffet (Cravings) had a large variety, but none of the food was particularly good. It was quite average. The food at BLT was "okay." The burgers were fine, but the fries were tasteless. I noticed a lot of people leaving them, which is a huge statement. The deserts at the deli were heavenly!
There are no in room coffee makers, which means you must either walk to the inhouse Starbucks, or across the street to McDonalds to get coffee each day. There are no in room refrigerators -- except the pricy minibar. I paid to have a fridge put in my room ($15 per day) and it was clean, but old, dented, and brought to my room on a broken plastic cart, which really took away from the decor. It never got very cold at all. Disappointing.
Overall, the room was very clean and bright. The walls are thin, but I was fortunate to get on a quiet floor. Some floors were not. The elevators are express to specific floors, so there was never much of a wait for an elevator.
I found the lady at the conceirage desk to be useless and arrogant. Fortuantely, I had all of my trip planned out. I found the bell desk to be unbelievably helpful in all situations. They are the ones who know the bus schedule, have the travel brochures, and can explain the Duece to you.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Mirage. I'm not sure if I'd go again just because of how smokey it was. Other large hotels on the strip were not so smokey.

The Hotel was great. Stayed Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Check in was quick and parking was free, the rooms were very nice and clean. Like the free in room safe. We over looked the volcano, but it was down for repairs and the lights on the hotel lit up the room so you had to keep the curtains closed at night to sleep, but the room was very quite. Wife said it was the best sleep she has had in a hotel. The kids really liked the pool, but get there early to get a good seat. Did express check out, which work great and am glad I did because the lines at the counter were very long. So if you don't need a copy of your bill this is the way to go. If you want a centrally located hotel on the strip, this is the place to stay.
Our three nights were very enjoyable. The room was what we requested, and very clean. The pool is great. Really wish that Starbucks was not so far from the guest elevators. Its quite a trek to get your morning coffee. The check-in desk is a long way through the casino from the guest elevators - luggage and kids in tow. We think the location of the Mirage is excellent. The staff that we encountered was friendly, none were rude to us.

Stayed at the Mirage hotel with a group of ladies for a bachelorette party. Was mugged and injured RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOTEL DOOR, on hotel property. Hotel could not have cared less. Filed a report with hotel, did not have any money and couldnt walk, they gave me a list of doctors, told me where the police station was and tried to get me to release my medical records and state how much I had to drink. Would no longer allow me in certain areas of the hotel as I did not have a state ID and they "would be liable if I got injured further". Everyone was incredibly rude, I was told the hotel manager would contact me, he never did. When i did find a manager to meet with he told me to hurry up (on my crutches!) and left before I got there. As a concession, risk management said that they would credit half a hamburger to my room service account. Half a hamburger. I was mugged... on their property. Half a hamburger. Risk management also told me that it was a public area and it was my own fault for getting hurt as I decided to try to catch the guy. And that I chose to be alone in front of the hotel. So basically the HOTEL told me that the Mirage is UNSAFE and anything you do there is at your own risk. Please don't stay here. Protect yourself and spend your money somewhere that will appreciate you.
We recently stayed and found the hotel service and rooms excellent. Large updated rooms and very friendly and helpful service. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone

We spent 4 nights at the Mirage, and from the moment we arrived it was clear why it is still considered the gold-standard in themed resorts on the Las Vegas strip. The valet and front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The valets were quick and...

We just stayed at the Mirage and absolutely loved it! Our room was ready before the normal check in time and was very clean, as was the entire hotel/casino. This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We definitely recommend it and...

The room was very noisy. Not just from the construction that starts at 3 a.m. in Las Vegas but the hotel is so poorly designed you can hear when everyone in your tower is going to the bathroom or taking a shower. Even normal conversations can be...
