Upon checking in, we were relieved to see that the lobby of the hotel was very nicely decorated and our minds were put at ease. HOWEVER, up entering our room, we found one lumpy bed, half the mattress was hanging to the floor, the bathroom sink was directly in front of the bed, the bathtub paint was peeling, the toilet was placed in a corner and there was no room when using it. The air conditioner did nothing but add room temperature to the air already in the room. For $90.00 per night - Very disappointed. Will spend the extra money next time instead of trying to save $40.00. Do not stay here!

The only problem we had was with the cable tv. We only had PBS, and it torture us the first night (late night). They replaced it with another box, which didn't have all the channels programmed in it (thanks Comcast). Later the maintenance man saw me
Will definitely stay there again.

Good
The hotel is older and smaller but clean and reasonable. The staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was very good and had good variety. We enjoyed the convenience of just a block walk to Comerica Park and Ford Field. Parking at the Detroit...
Let me first begin by saying that I have fairly low standards when it comes to hotels. I am completely satisfied by staying in a basic, cheapo, generic hotel. As long as the hotel is clean and things work, you won't hear me complaining. ...
we stayed at the Milner on sept 11 for Tigers Double header, we arrived early about 10:30 an even though check in was suppose to be at 3 they got us right in our room . Staff was very very nice great welcome wanted ...

So its not the marriot, but this hotel is nice. Its downtown detroit classy the architecture of the building is amazing. Check-in was good the clerk was very nice and helpful with my questions. I had a problem and locked my self out of the room the security guard attended to my needs quickly. The room itself was cute and clean. I lucked out and got a room with a kitchenette a full fridge and a stove and nice new cabinets. I wish I would've known I would've brought some beer. The view was fabulous looking out the window I could see Comerica Park with the stands full of fans and Ford field. It was very nice. Yeah I have read reviews about the hotel elevator that it was build by an eight year old. Well it could be worse. The elevator really wasn't that bad. the only problem is parking the hotel itself doesn't have parking. On the weekend there is free parking on the streets, so maybe you can be lucky to get parking on the streets. The clerk told me the opera house has cheap overnight parking, so check that out. The hotel also has internet so that is a plus. If your going to downtown detroit andplan on having a good time and want a place to lay your head this place is definitely the place to go. and it won't kill your wallet.
The room was older and one of the smaller hotel room's I've stayed in, but was clean and appeared to have been recently renovated with new-looking carpeting, shower curtain, etc. Not too bad a value for the money. Free breakfast was OK. ...
