The Maritimes 120 rooms and four penthouse suites have the elegance of a ships cabin. Vintage Japanese Dyed Fabrics and five-foot diameter porthole windows capture western light. The Maritime has two dramatic restaurants and a 10000 square foot courtyard.

While I cannot complain about the beautiful atmosphere and trendy decor, I must tell you, IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Bouncers are rude and discriminatory, table service is horrible, bartenders barely know the recipes to mix drinks, and the prices are...
I went to the Maritime to enjoy the nice weather and get some drinks with a few of my friends. We sat there from 6-8pm and literally saw the waitress twice. It was impossible to get drinks she took forever, we could never find her. Then to top...
I normally do not post a review but I just had to after last night. We wanted to be outside to enjoy NYC's first 80 degree weather in 2007. If it wasn't for the weather and great company I was with the night would of been a nightmare.
pros: Very trendy, very chicIf you're looking for a good, trendy, outdoor, see-and-be-seen hotel bar, this is the place. It's loud and crowded, but the service isn't that bad, and it's not uncommon to spot celebrities.

Mediocre
I have never experienced such bad service in my life. When we decided to celebrate a special occasion at the Maritime lounge we quickly learned that was a mistake! When our server was asked, "What's in this martini?" she quickly snapped back, "I...
pros: Good AmbianceDon't expect too much and you won't be let down. The outdoor seating and ambiance makes it a nice place to sit over a drink and chat with friends. Don't bother ordering food because it's overpriced and the quality is terrible....

Good
While The Maritime Hotel rooms are lovely, they are extremely noisy. Though padded "buttons" are available in each room to seal the windows, loud traffic noise and sounds from the hotel's outside eatery make sleep nearly unattainable. Also, air...
35 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
It was better than some of the other cool NYC hotels. The restaurant food was very good and the rooms and bathroom were very well designed for the small space.

Excellent
pros: outdoor seating, pizzaI was impressed by the thin crust pizza they served. It's some of the best in the Meatpacking district. The atmosphere was great, especially in the outdoor seating. The drink selection was above average, and the...
pros: outside- no viewService was terrible!! For the prices they charge for teeny drinks ($10+) they could be a little much more accomodating. We had to ask 3 times for menus, wait 15 minutes for drinks. Everyone working there seemed confused about...
