The Malaga Inn, in the Historic District of Downtown Mobile, is the only boutique hotel of its kind in Alabama. It was originally two townhouses built in 1862 by two brothers?in?law when the war was going well for the South. The Malaga Inn welcomes guests with 35 private rooms and 3 suites, each individually designed and custom made for comfort. The two original homes have been lovingly restored around a central picturesque courtyard with a later three story rear addition enclosing the entire charming setting. Though they share the charm of the Old South in common, our accommodations appeal to diverse tastes. Those looking for full immersion in the antebellum experience, for instance, will appreciate the grand scale and history of suites in the main houses; others might find the more informal appeal of the Courtyard rooms irresistible. All accommodations have been thoughtfully restored and designed with a great deal of uniqueness, reminiscent of the finest in Southern Living which evokes an antebellum spirit of gracious hospitality. Attractive views of the central fountain and greenery along the interior gallery guide you around the Courtyard to your private room. Many guest suites and rooms retain much of their original architectural details such as pocket doors and beautiful chandeliers. All accommodations feature wood floors and antique or vintage styled furnishings that typify the hotel's nostalgic blend of comfort and grace. Relaxing on the balconies and galleries or by the pool is a perfect way to unwind after a long day of meetings or sightseeing. Welcome to the Malaga Inn, we hope you enjoy your stay!
