My wife and I went on a marital retreat, and retreating was what I wanted to do. Our room had no refrigerator, and the staff was rude. The room's bathroom looked like something from Motel 6 and the 1980 model TV was not flat screen as stated on th
The first time we stayed the room smelled musty. We were close to the indoor waterfall, and maybe that had something to do with it. The next year we had a nice HUGE room with a good view. You have to request this stuff or you may be stuck in a...

It was our anniversary and we requested the "romance package", and it was the furthest thing from the truth. The service was terrible, the staff was rude, plus we were not able to check in until 4PM. Brown water came out of the shower, and the champagne and chocolate strawberries were not delivered (we finally did receive the champgne, but never saw the strawberries). The HZ restaurant didn't want to sit us at a table with a view because we didn't request it at the time we made the reservation, even though they were not busy and there were over 30 tables available. There were stains on the furniture, the bathroom was gross and rundown, and some of the on-site restaurants were closed for no apparent reason. On a positive note, the food was good...once you got it.
Stayed 3 nights in late June for conference, place is VERY OUTDATED, NEEDS UPDATE REAL BAD, rooms were small, no fridge/microwave, small very outdated bathrooms, nothing remodeled since it was built 30+ years ago, shower head busted, lots of...
Advertises great views. First room overlooked parking lot. Second room overlooked lawn and corner of woods to lake. The food was absolutely aweful. Undercooked, ammenities forgotten and very overpriced. No microwaves. No fridge. No luxeries...

STAY AWAY FROM: "LODGE OF THE FOUR SEASONS" (Lake of the Ozarks, MO).
It was our five year anniversary.
The "Honey Moon Suite" photos on the internet/hotel guides looked great; but the room was just the opposite. The "Honey moon suite" was a hodgepodge of mismatched OLD (1970's), OUTDATED, and DIRTY furniture; all for $160 per night... The bed comforter had stains on it. The shower glass door was very dirty and covered with soap scum. The wood balcony was rotten and the metal was rusting. When we entered our room a maintenance man was in there watching basketball; he said he was fixing a work order and quickly walked out. My wife went into the bathroom and there was urine all over the toilet seat...
We called the front desk to ask for another room and to let them know that the Honey moon suite did not live up to basic expectations. The front desk receptionist let us look at the so called "Owner's Suite" for over $200 per night; but the room was no better; just a bigger room full of old, mismatched, dirty furniture from the 70's...
The hotel was NOT busy; the front desk receptionist even asked if our bed was a Four Poster Bed; we said no, and she said "Oh." She could have tried to give us a better room for the same price....but she did not care to even try...
We walked out, turned in our key, and went to another hotel...
My husband and I stayed there about a month ago. There was a problem at check-in, but a man named John was QUICK to fix the problem. The lodge is decorated nicely. Our room was nice and so clean. Restaurants are very good. GREAT service from all...
I PERSONALLY HAVE NEVER STAYED AT THE LODGE, BUT I DID WORK THERE FOR A FEW MONTHS, THE STAFF HAS ONLY ABOUT 20 LOCALS OUT OF ALL 300 EMPLOYEES, THE REST THEY BRING IN EACH YEAR FROM JAMACIA, THE JAMAICANS ARE THE MEANEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MEET!...
I can not speak for the non lake view rooms, but the lakeview rooms are horrible. We had to move twice and ended up having to leave due to room cleanliness. The shower did not work, had mildew in shower, had other peoples hairs on the shower...
