Mickey's Piano Bar has a higher level – Posted Sep 26, 2008

Good

Mickey's Piano Bar has a higher level of sophistication than most of Vail's bars. If you are looking to have a good conversation, good background music and a glass of wine, Mickey's Piano Bar is a nice escape from Bridge Street chaos.

So I didn't give the Lodge a five-star – Posted Sep 24, 2008

Good

So I didn't give the Lodge a five-star rating only because it is all relative, and when you are looking at lodging in Vail, the bar is much higher than usual. That being said, the Lodge has the best pool in town, is steps from the lift and all the...

Now I know why guests LOVE this place – Posted Mar 05, 2008

The Lodge at Vail was a 'diamond' in the heart of Vail.

The people were genuinely warm and hospitable, paying attention to every detail no matter how large or small. The Wildflower restaurant was EXQUISITE - the menu, the wine, the ambiance and of course, the food was divine.

They made me feel like I was the "only" one in a room full of guests, and I know they've been making many people feel that way for years. It's celebrated and treasured by so many people year after year and now, I completely understand why I've grown to LOVE the Lodge at Vail. It's one of a kind.

Such a wonderful inn, I wish I had had – Posted Aug 14, 2007

Excellent

Such a wonderful inn, I wish I had had more time to stay longer. Going there is a vacation unto itself. Wonderful location in central Vall. The staff treat you like visiting royalty. I can't imagine a better inn, and I travel a...

First of all, this is a nice hotel in a – Posted Aug 26, 2006

Good

First of all, this is a nice hotel in a great location. However, Vail is undergoing a 3 year $1 billion dollar renovation. As of July 2006, most of this activity is directly behind the hotel. I was told that construction starts at 7am. Just a heads ...

The location couldn't have been better, right at the base of the Vail Village lifts, it’s as close to the action at you can get. At the end of the day, we'd simply pop off our skis and leave them at the liftside valet ski parking, and then walk 100 yards or so back to the Lodge in our ski boots, where we grabbed a cup of complimentary hot chocolate (or cider) to warm up.

The breakfast buffets in the cafe were perfect to start the day, $16 for cold buffet had plenty of options, though you could go all out with hot and cold buffet for $27. Or order a la carte, with an omelet for about $16.

Dinner at the Wildflower restaurant was phenomenal. The scallops appetizer served with risotto and rock shrimp was a stand-out for me.

This is a beautiful ski in and ski out – Posted Feb 13, 2006

Excellent

This is a beautiful ski in and ski out resort hotel, located in the heart of Vail Village. It reminded us of a quaint Bavarian hotel, but with all the amenities you come accustomed to in highend resorts. The rooms were very comfortable and well...
