We stayed here for 4th of July weekend. There is a lot to do in Steamboat during the summer months, so even though this hotel was not the best, we had a great weekend.
The property itself needs a general facelift. The windows in our room were all stuck closed and it took some work to get them open, one actually fell off. Lots of pipe noise from the surrounding rooms was a bit annoying. The tennis courts need re-surfacing. Most of the buildings are near the road or construction sites.
We requested a move after checking in. Ask for building A or B if you want some peace quiet. The pool was incredibly small. It was great when my son and I had it all to ourselves, but we got crowded out when a few more kids showed up.
The rooms themselves are spacious, well furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. It was one block walking distance to the main Gondola square.
The steamboat was great. We'll be back, but will probably be staying somewhere else. If you're looking for a decent sized pool in the summer, we walked over to the Steamboat Grand Resort, it looked awesome.
