Yes, this inn is conveniently located in downtown Charleston. Yes, it would be fun for people who love the nightlife. No, it is not for families - especially if you have young children. We exchanged this through RCI for a "resort-style" vacation. However, the 2-bedroom villa we stayed in was filthy. I could write my name in the dust on the wood floors. The carpet was sticky in several spots. We had to wash the pots and dishes before using them - they had food residue from previous guests. We have stayed at 18 resorts during the past 10 years - this was the worst of them all.

The staff was friendly, but they could not do anything about intoxicated guests partying in the alley in front of our bedroom.

My daughter, her roommate, her roommate's mom and I had a fantastic stay at the Lodge Alley Inn. The front desk and other check in personnel couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating to us. They were always ready to go the extra distance to help us and answer our questions and make sure our stay was comfortable and relaxing.

The inn is located in a very convenient area of historic Charleston, beautifully maintained and it was easy to get around to the various sites and restaurants.

The only negative aspect of our stay was the constant attempts to get us to listen to a "timeshare" talk. But we avoided it, and it was only slightly bothersome.

I definitely recommend this inn to anyone looking for comfort, a friendly atmosphere and good location.

It was great. It was located in the historic district of Charleston. The valet service was nice. The only thing missing was the internet connection in the rooms.

I am very likely to return to the The Lodge Alley Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We have visited Charleston about ten times over the years. We have stayed at the Lodge Alley Inn twice and it has become a favorite! Sometimes we like to stay at B&B's, but other times you want a more reasonable hotel and this place can't be beat.

There are four separate buildings with a shared courtyard with tables/chairs and a fountain. So it feels like a private campus when you walk out of your room. All the rooms are different, but have fantastic wood floors and furniture reproductions. On our first visit, he had a loft room and the living/dining area was huge. We could have hosted a party for 20! Our most recent visit there were four adults staying together and they upgraded us to a 1-bedroom suite which provided ample privacy to both couples. The living area was small, but would have been fine for two guests.

They have bikes for rent which we used both visits and was a highlight of our weekend. Keep in mind that it’s a timeshare property and they will ask you (once) to take the tour/sales presentation. But if you decline, they never mention it again.

All in all, a great value!

I am very likely to return to the The Lodge Alley Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

79 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

The hotel is very good. They have large rooms with a fireplace, and an outstanding bar and restaurant. The employees were knowledgeable. They offer valet parking and the cost is reasonable.

This hotel made me feel respected: The employees were very helpful with our luggage and courteous on the phone. The bell and room services were prompt.

I am very likely to return to the The Lodge Alley Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
