Official Hotel Information
Once the storied Charles Street Jail, The Liberty Hotel will welcome guests to Boston with the spirit of a landmark liberated following an extensive $120 million acquisition, renovation and construction process. Marrying historic architecture with the high standards of refined, modern travel, The Liberty Hotel will be New England's premier four-star destination. The ultimate union of historic influence and contemporary design, The Liberty Hotel is inspired by a sophisticated interior decor that integrates with the architecture's beautiful simplicity. Echoing the stone facade, reception desks are punctuated with a panel of granite warmed by a surrounding concentric panel of mahogany woods. Throughout the public areas, American colonial prints, enlarged and rendered in historic colors such as maroon, gray and purple, provide a fresh take on a traditional look, while bold geometric carpets in rich hues of purple and yellow are reminiscent of New England window panes and the friezes of traditional doors. Captivating in every sense of the word, The Liberty Hotel promises an unforgettable guest experience in a unique setting second to none.

This hotel used to be the old Charles Street jail and has been completely renovated. It keeps the 'jailhouse' them and is very interesting. Expensive but worth a night's stay
i've been here for a few events now, but never stayed. i've seen the rooms, and they are plush. but the hotel itself has a great bar and restaurant scene - definitely the place to see and be seen right now in boston.

My company recently had our holiday party (yes, we had one this year) at this hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed. They give you a glass of champagne at check in - nice touch. Every staff member I met had a smile on their face, and said hello.

We recently spent a lovely weekend in Boston at The Liberty Hotel. It's very trendy and within walking distance to Beacon Hill, Charles Street shopping as well as the Common and Public Gardens. We...
This hotel is a beautiful example of the refurbishment and restoration of old Boston buildings and landmarks - the fact that it used to be a jail makes for a great story! The tongue-in-cheek references to its original use, like the "Clink" restaurant and and "Alibi" lounge, not to mention the hotel name itself, are a fun touch. The view over the Charles River is really quite beautiful, and the decor breathtaking. The hotel is directly across the street from the Charles/MGH Red Line "T" stop, and Government Center is just a short walk away for shopping, dining and sightseeing.
